The Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors Housing Foundation, the non-profit holding the annual “A Taste of Santa Cruz” event is collaborating with the Santa Cruz Mountains Wine Growers Association (SCMWA) for the first time in its 14-year history.
As in the past ATOSC is happy to feature local businesses and restaurants at the event. New this year is a collaboration with the Santa Cruz Mountains Winegrowers Association that is helping the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors Housing Foundation to bring local wineries onboard “Taste of Santa Cruz” to showcase premium wines made in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
”The Housing Foundation is thrilled to form this collaboration to take “A Taste of Santa Cruz” to the next level in supporting our local community, which encompasses our local vintners, as well”, stated David DeTeso, Chairman for the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors Housing Foundation. “It just makes sense to work with the winery members in bringing the taste of the Santa Cruz Mountains to our attendees.”
Jerry Starr, sommelier and SCMWA member, stated, “This is a whole new program for ATOSC. Now that the event is at the Museum of Art and History, we are working to create an event in which all of Santa Cruz will want to be involved, that includes local wineries. The time has come and the event can truly be — A Taste of (ALL of) Santa Cruz. In the past, local businesses and restaurants have been featured and now, local wineries and local craft beers will be, as well. We invite the whole community to come out and enjoy!”
“A Taste of Santa Cruz” is being held on Thursday, November 9th from 5:30 to 9 pm at the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History in downtown Santa Cruz. The venue offers three floors of art exhibitions, all-you-can-enjoy food and wine tasting and a silent and live auction. For the first time, attendees can also purchase full glasses of wine and beer and can purchase full bottles of wine to take home. Tickets are now on sale at ATOSC.com. Pre-purchase tickets are $45 and $55 at the door.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Santa Cruz County Association of Realtors Housing Foundation Closing Cost Assistance grant program which assists low-income individuals and families become homeowners. For more information about the program go to http://www.scaor.org/hf/
